"no single, individual moment is in and of itself unendurable" - 2013
A bell rings randomly every three to five seconds. It is recorded onto one tape loop by two cassette players with one mic next to the bell and one in the room, respectively. The recording tape players have had their pre-record erase function disabled and the motor speed to all three cassette players changes randomly. The last of an erase function and the random speed changes the sound of the recorded bell is distorted and slowly over printed over itself, the sound slowly evolves into a chaotic status. The title is a line from Infinite Jest, by David Wallace.
